Plant lovers garden - Olney
Date: September 2006
Type: Country Gardens
Client: Private Client
This long thin garden in the market town of Olney was divided into four areas.
The first terrace area is used for dining and leads straight off the conservatory onto traditional herringbone brickwork. The garden then steps up onto a gravel area with beds each side containing a mix of shrubs, perennials and herbs.
The top terrace is a hardwood deck that wraps around the old apple tree and leads to office and utility area at the back of the garden.
Blurring the edges with lots of plants and weaving the path creates mystery and makes the area feel a lot bigger than it is.
