Walled garden - Islington
Date: March 2003
Type: Town Gardens
Client: Private client
This medium sized town garden was surrounded by three tatty brick walls. The walls were cleaned up, rendered and painted to immediately lift the space and make it feel bigger.
The garden was divided into three sections, the first being a slate terrace to the north facing back of the house. This leads onto a stepping stone walkway with tall fastigiated hornbeams though informal slate chippings.
The final section is the main hardwood decked terrace at the sunny end of the garden. A simple stainless steel water feature is the gardens focal point and a built in bench maximises the terraces dining area.
